Advertising appeals to different types of people. Depending on the audience that the advertisement is designed for, the advertisement can and will need to be altered to make those individuals interested in the product.
I can recall a specific type of advertisement that I enjoy because the product that is on television is something I would be interested in because I am an athlete. This advertisement brand is Gatorade and their G-series. This is their three different types of drinks. The first drink is to take before a game or practice so that an athlete can get an extra energy boost. The second drink is for during the activity. It replenishes electrolites and hydrates the athlete. The last drink is a recovery drink so that muscles can heal and become stronger after the physical activity. I enjoy this because I am already a fan of Gatorade and I use it a lot.
Really interesting blog. I myself as a former athlete really have always like gatorade advertising. Somehow when you think people are going to get tired of gatorade they come out with something new and fresh to bring people back in. I totally agree with you on the advertising on television, it draws me back in everytime. I always find myself wanting to try different drinks, but for some reason I always go back to gatorade.
ReplyDeleteWhile the information about what the Gatorade drink does is there, it's hard to capture the true essence of the product without a picture or some type of video clip. In addition, you do not go into a full description of why you like the product besides the fact that you "[are] an athlete." I would add to it by saying more about why you like the product and what it does for you personally, or how it specifically has benefited during a time or event. I would also avoid overuse of the same words (such as, "advertisement") and writing a complete sentence to show a complete thought (unless personally intended). Besides that, everything else is fine.
ReplyDeleteGreat point. I noticed recently that Gatorade and Powerade are both very similar. My guess is that Gatorade made the "G-series" to compete with Powerade.(which I do have to admit, powerade is sometimes better tasting) However, the "G-series" gives a better appearance to Gatorade making it seem more effective in terms of performance in sports. Great move for Gatorade.
